Council Executive Director Recommends Approval of Louisiana State Expenditure Plan Amendment #2

On February 14, 2022 Council’s Executive Director provided a recommendation memo to the Council Chair, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to approve the Louisiana State Expenditure Plan Amendment #2. This SEP amendment, if approved by the Council Chair, would expand geographic coverage coastwide for all aspects of the System-Wide Assessment and Monitoring Program implementation component of the previously-approved Adaptive Management program; and reallocate $60 million from the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority-Parish Matching Opportunities Program to a new SEP activity, the River Reintroduction into Maurepas Swamp Project. States amend SEPs to increase funding for projects or programs in existing SEPs and/or add new activities to the SEP. States submit SEP amendments for approval by the Council Chair.
